Credit and debit cards in AlertPay
AlertPay.com does offer funding your AlertPay account with credit card, however, it is impossible to withdraw funds to the credit card. It is not possible to pay directly with credit card without setting up an account with AlertPay. You can also fund you AlertPay account with debit card issued by Visa or MasterCard, other debit cards are not accepted at the moment. At the moment AlertPay does not offer ATM/debit card, but is willing to do it in the near future.
Pros and cons of AlertPay
The first and the most important advantage of using AlertPay is its availability in all coutries. There are no fees for setting up an account and sending money. It makes AlertPay the cheapest way to send money to another country. Unfortunately, receiving money is not free, but it costs only $1.00 for Personal Account, what is a good price when bigger transactions are concerned. AlertPay is also a good choice for merchants, while Secured Account has a chargeback prevention system, that guarantees no groundless chargebacks. It is good that customers can fund and withdraw their AlertPay funds to e-gold, however, it is not cheap.
As far as cons are concerned, I would concentrate on fees. These are much higher than in other online payment systems, such as e-gold or Moneybookers. AlertPay has also become a good payment processor for fake buyers at online auctions. They send fake e-mails informing that AlertPay has already sent you check an you are good to send the auction item.
Subjective opinion on AlertPay
AlertPay is quite a young online payments processor, however, also quite successfu at the moment. Many people have positive opinion about this online payment method and so do I. Nevertheless, there are some signals that need to be taken into consideration. First of all, AlertPay is used for fraudulent payments for online auctions. There was a group of people who sent fake e-mails informing, on behalf of AlertPay, that the payment has been proceeded and check or cash is on its way to seller. The sellers sent their products, but never received the real payment. The second thing that needs to mentioned are chargebacks. If someone deposits funds form credit card or via bank transfer directly to your AlertPay account, the transactions may be cancelled after the payee claims a chargeback at his credit card issuer or bank. Better be careful, while using AlertPay.
